What is an iPad?

An iPad is a tablet computer developed by Apple, Inc. Primarily a platform for audio-visual media (books, movies, music, games, apps, web content, etc.), its touch screen, intuitive design and ability to use ever-evolving apps makes the iPad a popular product capable a wide range of uses.

How do I access iPads?

As our district rebuilds its technological infrastructure, we financially can only support one platform (PCs) at this time. Therefore, the funds, IT support, set up and maintenance of iPads falls on those schools that wish to acquire them. That being said, hopefully the resources on this page can help.

How do I use iPads?

You will need to set up your iPads once you have them. This is where it gets complicated. Many people are creating an iTunes account for their school and connecting all their iPads to it. The problem with this is bulk purchasing of apps (many only use free apps when using this approach).

Volume Purchasing of Apps for schools is now available in Canada. Please check Apple's website and ask your administrator for more information. If you are using a class set of iPads, consider buying a cart for security, syncing and charging.
